Jeffrey Platt

Jeffrey P. is a seasoned U.S. Coast Guard Officer based in Alameda, California, with over 19 years of distinguished service leading marine environmental response, contingency planning, and incident management across the United States. He currently serves as Branch Chief for Pacific Area Exercises & Contingency Plans, shaping preparedness and response strategies on a regional scale.
Jeff’s leadership portfolio includes key roles such as Chief of Incident Management at Sector Buffalo, Command Duty Officer for the Thirteenth District in Seattle, and Executive Officer aboard Cutter Anacapa in Alaska. He has also contributed in admissions outreach at the Coast Guard Academy and supervised production in the private sector as a Post-Casting Production Supervisor.
With a Master of Arts in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from American Military University and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Environmental Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Jeff brings deep expertise in environmental science, fisheries, and marine biology, communicating in both English and Spanish. He has published and contributed to international knowledge exchanges, including major oil spill response agreements and multinational contingency planning efforts.
